Our approach to making meaningful progress and creating an impact is done by aligning our efforts with causes that are important to our customers and team, as well as complement our business goals and strategies.

    We aim to promote sustainable living and recreation, protecting natural resources and wildlife, and creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.

    Through our commitment to stewardship, we support environmental education, raise awareness, and champion conservation efforts. By protecting our natural resources, we ensure a healthier environment for current and future generations. At Sun, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers, focusing on underrepresented groups, so everyone can experience and benefit from the great outdoors.

  • Prioritizing People

    Sun is dedicated to improving the quality of life of our people by encouraging healthy, purposeful living. We dedicate support to initiatives providing essential resources that promote well-being and purpose including access to safe and nutritious food, social and health services, academic support, and resources for personal growth. Additionally, we are committed to fostering diversity in recruitment and growth within our industries.

    Through a sense of connection, pride, and resiliency, Sun is committed to strengthening the areas we serve and operate.

Through these efforts, our goal is to maintain and enhance the beauty, culture, and strength that exist both within and beyond our locations. Sun helps support this through efforts around safety, emergency preparedness, and education.

Grants & Giving

Our company is committed to building strong communities. We strategically support local causes that make a difference through our philanthropic efforts, which include charitable grants and sponsorships.

CORE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or a registered Canadian nonprofit in good standing.
  • Operate within proximity to a Sun location.
  • Organization's core goals and mission are aligned with at least one of Sun's focus pillars.
  • Demonstrate a clear strategy to accomplish your mission through the proposed program, funding, and anticipated outcome within your application.
  • Complete an anti-discrimination attestation within the online application portal.

ENGAGING OUR TEAM

Volunteerism

We love living out our seven core culture statements every day, using our time, and talent to strengthen the communities where we live and work. It's so inspiring to see our #WeOverMe culture in action through the volunteer hours our team members log each year. In 2023, our team members across North America, including those in MH and RV locations, reported an impressive 77% increase in volunteer hours. This amazing growth shows just how impactful our approach to empowering local teams and supporting them with resources and leadership really is.

A big part of this increase is thanks to our Sun Unity Ambassador program, which we kicked off in 2021. Sun Unity is all about fostering volunteerism from the grassroots level, with opportunities driven by our team members rather than top-down initiatives. Our ambassadors work closely with local community members, nonprofits, and regional leaders to identify community needs and figure out how Sun can help. Together, we're making positive changes and building stronger communities.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE

Scholarships

Educational opportunity plays a key role in strengthening individuals, families, and the communities we're proud to serve. We believe supporting education is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in our residents' futures.

Through the Sun Unity Scholarship program, open to residents, guests, their children and grandchildren, and the children of our team members, we help to remove barriers and expand access to higher education and career pathways. By offering scholarships toward trade schools, colleges, and universities, we further our commitment to empower residents to pursue their goals, build stable futures, and create lasting impact for themselves and their communities. 

Since inception in 2017, the Sun Unity Scholarship Program has awarded nearly $600K to 431 students connected to our communities.

Community Impact Spotlights

85+ Sun Properties Across the US
More than 600 team members united at Elevate to pack 100,000+ meals with US Hunger for veterans and families in the Orlando community—turning gratitude into action through both nourishment and heartfelt notes of thanks.
Impact Back to School Group
As part of our annual Back to School with Sun campaign in 2025, teams across 113 locations came together to provide 9,000+ backpacks and essential supplies—helping students in our communities start the year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.
Park Holidays UK Team
Park Holidays in the UK has a team that participates in the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean Up. This collective effort resulted in nearly 5,000 volunteers cleaning up over 140,000 pieces of litter.

    Each year, we partner with local and national nonprofit organizations that align with our key focus areas to maximize our resources and support for a greater impact together.
